DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) Coatings in Valve Lifters
Carbon-based DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coatings are the best solution wherever wear resistance and good sliding properties are required, such as in timing systems.
The acronym DLC stands for “Diamond-Like Carbon”, which suggests a carbon coating similar to diamond.
These coatings combine extreme properties:
- Low coefficient of friction (good sliding properties)
- High hardness
- Corrosion resistance
- Good wear protection
